Advent Lutheran Church is a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation
We extend our welcome to people of all races, cultures and colors; to
people of all sexual orientation, gender expression and gender
identity; to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities; to people of
every legal economic and marital status; and to all those whom the
world seeks to separate, divide or isolate.
We celebrate your identity as a gift from God, and we welcome you to a diverse community united by our faith.
We welcome you to receive God’s grace given to all regardless of our worldly successes or failures.
Together
we commit ourselves to embrace the continuing work of anti-racism,
social and economic justice, and environmental care.
"Welcome one another therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God." -Romans 15:7
Are Lutherans Christians?
Yes, Lutherans are Christians. The Lutheran church is a branch of Christianity that traces its interpretation of the Christian religion to the teachings of Martin Luther.
Advent Lutheran Church believes in giving back to the community, and showing God's love to all.
Garden of Giving - In
2022, the Advent Lutheran Church’s Garden of Giving changed lives and
brought healthy food to our community members in need donating over 4000 lbs of
produce to the Snohomish Food Bank! The church thanks all of the garden
volunteers, and especially Sandy & Dennis Barrett for their
steadfast commitment through cold and heat to successfully lead this
ministry.
Christmas Food Baskets - Advent
Lutheran Church's Christmas Food Baskets Committee is thrilled to share
that thanks to your generosity, 225 families in need in our community each received ingredients for a complete Christmas Dinner. Volunteers of America, Everett Gospel Mission, Clothes for
Kids, YWCA, and local schools helped identify recipients in need.
Free Food Pantry at Advent Lutheran Church - Advent maintains a free food pantry directly in front
of the church which is always unlocked for those in need to collect food
—and it is always unlocked to receive food donations. We welcome all
items, but especially pasta, sauce, canned fruit, bar soap, shampoo, and
hot and cold cereal. Thank you for your generosity!
The Giving Tree for Mary’s Place - Thank you to everyone who generously supported the Giving Tree for Mary's Place, a local organization which provides safe, inclusive shelter and services for women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. Thanks to your generosity, we collected 43 gift cards and checks totaling $1225!
We have several Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) groups that meet at our church and bless us with their presence. For meeting times, please visit: https://silverlakestudygroup.org/
